About Me

My aspiration to capture the beauty of the natural world flourished from an early age. My father is a prolific mountain walker and leader so has been guiding me up mountains in the Lake District and Snowdonia National Parks from the age of two whilst teaching me the skills of reading and navigating the land throughout the seasons. As I grew I was absorbed by light transposing the colours, form and texture of the landscape. Exposed to the elements and varying weather conditions, my photographs capture the drama of an ever changing scene. They encapsulate that one-shot moment when all the elements converge. My work gives the viewer the chance to observe the world through my lens and experience a perspective that they may have never seen before. For example, my nature photography captures detail that we often overlook in our busy world.

Based in North Wales and building on inspiration such as Richard Long and Colin Prior my photographs capture the pure heart of the rugged landscape of my home. Occasions to engage with the landscape and capture the richness and diversity of our land are inexhaustible whilst living your life in Wales; walking dogs, camping with friends, trips to the coastline and trekking to name a few.

My journey into photography started at the young age of nine, exploring film and formats and printing and developing techniques. I then worked in the industry providing technical advice and support whilst completing my professional training in photography and photo Imaging. At the age of 28, I have my first exhibition at Wrexham Library from 7th September running until the 10th October 2010. Although primarily a British Landscape Photographer, I have travelled extensively and will be showcasing my travel images on this site.

I hope these photographs give you as much pleasure as the land has to me throughout my life.
